It really IS possible!
Many years ago, I was a young mom who was also a travel advisor. I helped Shannon, an executive assistant from a large company, design a reward trip for their top 50 producers. Together we planned the location, I found a beautiful all-inclusive resort for them, we ordered the gifts, organized the team-building experiences, and packaged the entire experience beautifully. During the planning process, she asked if I would be willing to accompany them and handle the behind-the-scenes arrangements on-site. Of course I said yes! One afternoon of the getaway was designed so that participants could either golf 18 holes or get a spa treatment. Shannon offered the same to me. Although I like to golf, I really wanted to experience a spa treatment. I hadn’t ever had a massage and felt out of my league there, so I scheduled a facial.
The facial was so relaxing…except for the part where the attendant started working on the blackheads on my nose! Despite years of cleansers and picking at them, I hadn’t ever been able to completely get rid of the pesky things. But this wonderful soul diligently worked out every little speck of blackhead on my nose. That woman did something for me that day which I hadn’t even known was available to a normal person, without paying an arm and a leg.
The trip was a success for everyone, and I returned home grateful for the spa treatment I’d had. And the best part? Those blackheads have never made a reappearance!
Some of my favorite vacations include a spa treatment of some sort! There are many reasons why you should visit a spa, especially while traveling. Our society is so fast-paced, and over time, keeping up with everything takes its toll. We are all looking for an escape. One way to escape and enhance your vacation is by visiting a resort with a spa. Let's look at some of the benefits of spa treatments!
Reduce your stress
After enjoying scenic views or a stunning sunset, you can cap off the day by receiving a massage treatment at the spa. Luxurious treatments feature ambient lighting and pleasing aromas to help you feel calm and relaxed. You can book these treatments from the comfort of your hotel suite, in the spa or perhaps even oceanside under a cabana your resort has set up for massage.
Body Detox
The air in our daily environments is full of harmful toxins. As time passes, these toxins can impact your health. In addition to enhancing your emotional well-being, visiting a spa can also help your physical well-being. For example, when you receive a massage, your body's lymphatic system flushes harmful toxins from within your body.
Enhance Your Self-Esteem
One of the best ways to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself is by practicing self-care. A trip to the spa ranks high on the list of self-care routines. You'll find aroma diffusers, bathing salts, body oils, clay masks, facial steamers, and inhalers to help with self-care and boosting your self-esteem.
Health Improvements
There are many health benefits to receiving spa treatments. After a long day of travel, your body needs a release. Did you know that when a massage therapist applies pressure to congested body parts, it significantly improves blood circulation? The massage pressure also causes oxygen-rich blood to flow through your body, which results in the healing of damaged and tense muscles. Massages are also a great way to shake off any feelings of jet lag.
Are you convinced yet? After having that facial, it was years before I was brave enough to try my first massage. Now, massages are one of my favorite things! There are so many reasons, emotional and physical, why you should visit a spa at a resort, but don’t just take my word for it. Try it out at home or on vacation, and you may just be hooked like I am. Let me know if you’re interested in booking a treatment on your next vacation, and I’ll be happy to help you arrange it!
